Local nonprofit organizations will be under the lights at Pitch Positive, a high-energy event that will reward the best 3-minute pitch by the selected nonprofits with cash awards. Northeast Community Innovation Corp, Social Venture Partners, Band Together, House of Katia, Propp Partners and the Fairfield County Food Forum have joined forces to create the event.
WHAT: Five nonprofit organizations will pitch their missions and the way they are contributing to closing the opportunity gap in their communities to a panel of judges. Cash prizes will be awarded. The nonprofits selected to pitch are:
CONNECT US –Bridgeport – Partners suburban and urban neighbors to improve the quality of outcomes for young people living in communities of concentrated poverty.
DANIEL TRUST FOUNDATION – invests in and supports low-income students with their educational and professional goals
ELM CITY INTERNATIONALS – is a college preparatory, academic and mentoring program that uses soccer as the catalyst to provide low-income students.
KEYS: Bridgeport-based, provides free individual and group instrumental music lessons for students
INTAKE – Stamford-based non-profit arts organization that promotes music education through multiculturalism and native instruments.
WHEN: Wednesday, April 18, 2018 6 PM – 9PM
The evening’s program
- 6pm – Networking, Music by Band Together, Libations and Food by MaiKana Foods, Nutty Bunny, Nutshell Nutbars, Winfield Street Coffee & Deli, The Bites Company, Half Full Brewery, and other members of Fairfield County Food Forum
- 7pm – Pitch Positive presentations by nonprofit organizations
- 8pm – Awards and Dessert
The public is invited to attend the event and meet the nonprofit organizations that represent the Social Venture Partners mission of “Closing the opportunity gap in CT.” In addition to the awards delivered by the judging panel, there will be an “Audience Favorite,” award, sponsored by The Bestest App, a new instant voting platform with offices in Westport, CT.
